Screen Dolly is built to keep your work on your machine. This page explains, in plain language, what data exists and where it goes. The short version: your recordings never leave your Mac, and we don’t track you.
The app
- Recordings stay local. Everything you capture — screen, microphone, system audio, webcam — is saved as ordinary files on your Mac. Screen Dolly has no cloud storage and never uploads your recordings anywhere.
- No account. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log in to.
- No analytics. The app contains no analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind.
- License keys are verified offline. When you buy Screen Dolly, your license key is checked on your Mac using cryptography — no activation server is contacted.
- One optional network call. The only network request the app can make is the software-update check, and it is off until you enable it. When enabled, it fetches a small file describing the latest version; we do not use it to identify you.
Purchases
Checkout is handled by Stripe and its Link checkout, our merchant of record (your statement will show the charge as coming from Link). When you buy a license, Stripe processes your payment and collects the information needed to complete the order (such as your name and email address, for delivering your license key and receipt). That data is handled under Stripe’s privacy policy. We receive the order details needed to support you — never your full payment details.
This website
screendolly.com is a static site. We don’t set cookies and we don’t run analytics or advertising scripts. Our hosting provider (Netlify) may keep standard server logs — such as IP addresses and requested pages — to operate and secure the service, per Netlify’s privacy policy.
If you write to us at support@screendolly.com, we’ll have your email address and whatever you send us. We use it only to help you, and we don’t add you to any mailing list.

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
